Portrait Library license
Last updated October 11, 2026
The photos in the Portrait Library are free to use as references for your own drawings, paintings, sculptures and other artwork, including artwork you sell. Please just don’t sell or hand out the photos themselves.
You may
- Download the photos and use them for drawing, painting and sculpting practice.
- Use them as reference for your own artwork, and sell, exhibit or publish that artwork.
- Use them when you teach: show them in a class or workshop, or give students a link to the library.
- Share your artwork made from them anywhere. A credit such as “Reference: Pose Clay Portrait Library” is welcome but not required.
You may not
- Sell, license or give away the photos themselves, alone or in a collection: as stock photos, prints, reference packs or downloads on another site.
- Put the photos in another library, app or service, or use them to train AI models or build datasets.
- Present the people in the photos as real, or use the photos to mislead, harass or defame anyone.
- Suggest that Pose Clay made, sponsors or endorses your work.
Clay Pose Studio pictures
Pictures you download from the Clay Pose Studio are free to use the same way: for practice, for value studies and as reference for your own artwork, including artwork you sell. Clay and Tracie are Pose Clay’s own characters, so please don’t sell the pictures themselves or use Clay or Tracie as a logo.
About the photos
Every portrait was made with Pose Clay, from a sculpted reference bust and a description of the sitter. The sitters are not real people, and any resemblance to a real person is coincidental. The full-size downloads are the original renders, as large as Pose Clay made them.
The fine print
The photos are provided as they are, without any warranty. We may update these terms; the version on this page applies from the date at the top. If you’d like to use the photos in a way these terms don’t cover, ask us at hello@poseclay.com.
